New!! Monday 7/1/13... Sheesh. I've been on the DL here. Sorry 'bout that, if you are following my website. I'm working my way through things to work my way into Other Worlds. Like a FT job. But I'm writing. Lots of stuff I can't post yet, but some I can.
As a Civil War and American history buff, July1-3 has special meaning to me. The battle of Gettysburg, 150 years ago this week. As you turn to the Pop Culture page here on my website, you'll get some insight.
BOILERPLATE: Thanks for visiting my Web home. From here, you can page through my various writing arenas: The blogs Retail, Pop Culture, The Cloud (fiction-focused) and OffBeat (whatever-focused). Please note: This website is under construction and the original work is copyrighted. The pages will soon begin to have content and links. Promise.
A little about me: I am an award-winning journalist (writer-editor) and communications professional who has covered the gamut, from investigative reporting and business writing to entertainment and feature writing. My unique writing style and ability to engage readers has been highly lauded and widely imitated.
I'm now a writer, editor and public relations consultant-for-hire.
While at The Post-Standard newspaper and Syracuse.com website in Syracuse, N.Y., I covered and commented on (with distinctive style) the regional/national retail scene for years: Online, in print and in Web videos.
The groundbreaking Store Front blog I created, along with a subscriber-based e-newsletter, was followed widely by readers and professionals throughout North America, garnering thousands of unique pageviews daily.
I have also covered the television, film, radio, music industries, with numerous trips to LA for a wide range of entertainment stories. I was also elected to the board of directors of the Television Critics Association, consisting of hundreds of television and film critics from throughout North America.
Additionally, I am a lauded adjunct professor teaching journalism (print, online and video) to hundreds of students at two of the top communications schools in the nation: Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications.
